Generally all is well apart the usual infuriating things like outboards not working properly…it won’t idle so I go everywhere flat out or
stop.
Then today coming back from Customs, which is about 2 miles away,
it stopped altogether and refused to go. I was rowing against the wind and tide for about an hour more or less staying in the same spot when I was rescued by a water taxi, who towed me back to the boat for 1000
vatu.
Took it all apart and reassembled it and now it goes…but it still doesn’t idle. I’ve had the whole fuel system apart maybe 10 times over the last
few days and no difference…sometimes it roars its head off, but if I adjust the idle screw it runs for about 5 seconds and then dies….it must be the
carburettor…but what I don’t know.
Anyway, all set now to go south on Wednesday. Erromango, Tanna,
Anyetium. Clear out of Anyetium next Tuesday for Noumea…that’s the
plan.
So we’ll see how it goes. No internet for a week, but the internet here is so slow and you only get 15minutes free every 5 hours, so it’s hopeless for things like this
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to update the website when
travelling like this and I think that probably I will give up on it….I don’t
think many read it anyway…..
Maybe last ditch…try to post some pictures etc in Noumea.
