Original plan was to head for Apia, Samoa, but looking at the timing we wouldn't arrive until Saturday, can't clear in until Monday and then we'd have to leave, so we agreed to go directly to Savusavu, Fiji.
We used the mizzen balloner for the first time, man what a great sail, I love it ! Its so easy to deploy and in lightish aft winds it makes Elyse fly..we kept it up for two days until the wind died...and the rain started.

The mizzen ballooner in action !
Passing the East cost of Taveuni in the night some commotion in the cockpit - crew got things a bit wrong and furled the genoa thewrong way round the foil, tighten up the stbd sheet so much that t broke the end off the pole, tripped the furler motor cct breaker and , as we found out later, burnt out one of the furler solenoids.
Pole end easily fixed with new rivets, but the solenoid is another story.
But Amel service have come to the party and a new one is on its way as we speak by FEDEX from France....Bravo Amel
So, Suvarov to Savusavu 1073 nm 6 days 8 hours
Easy clearing in at the Copra Shed Marina, they bring the officials to the boat, all done, very pleasant, just had to go ashore to pay the Health fee $172.50 and the Biosecurity fee $89.70 and we're done.
Joy and Lucas have left the boat here and joined another boat owned by an Austrian(?) friend of Joy's.
So lets explore the sights of Savusavu !
