A few pictures of the stunning Robinsons Cove, Moorea on a new page under Photos/French Polynesia/Moorea
Sailed and motored to Moorea..a squall that never really happened...a bit of sunshine but mostly drizzly rain
Anchored in Robinson's Cove, Baie d'Opunuhu ...onlly boat here...very quiet. Cheers Alan, Gunilla, Joy and Lucas Getting gas bottles filled here is a night mare.
Last Thursday we took the bottles to the local Mobil station – the marina told us to do that. Oh yes Mr Mobil says, will be back next week….what ??...yes takes two to three days and this weekend is festival and Monday a holiday… What if we take them to Gaz de Tahiti ourselves ?...You can try… So off in the car to the port…but Mr Gaz de Tahiti says no, no, you can’t come in here, you must take your bottles to the Mobil station. What ?..we are poor sailors, we have no gas, we need to cook so we can eat ! Is there nowhere else we can go ? He then gave us some very confusing instructions to go to a place called Le Bion or something like that…we spent 20 minutes driving around and couldn’t find it, so back to the Mobil station… Mr Mobil says maybe Tuesday, maybe Wednesday, I don't know….so when should we come back…I don’t know…hmm Well, they were back at the Mobil station today, but unfilled…they don't have a connector for our type of bottles…they only fill bottles with the big US style connector. Of course they could have told me that on Thursday but they didn’t….so we go with just two bottles and hope we make it to Fiji. So, the marina is paid…small fortune…we’ve cleared out of Papeete and will be on the way to Moorea tomorrow morning. We’ll stay in Baie de Cook for at least one night….maybe two, and in order to not rush things too much, we’ll go to Raitea overnight directly and miss out Huahine. Mais, c’est la vie ! Salut de Papeete Alan, Gunilla, Joy and Lucas
