Noon posn 28.04S, 176.48E Distance run 164nm
Sailed well through the night, covered 90 nm by midnight. Breeze ran out by 0600, motored 3.5 hrs Breeze came back in around 28S ... and the sun came out !!Slow progress since and at 1400 the motor was on again and still is. The true breeze is around 8 knots from 150 degrees true whcih makes it almost impossible to keep the sails out. Somewhere along the line the main topping lift failed. There's a bungy cord inside the boom and either it's come off its retainer at the mast end or its broken...nothing much to do about that other than just tie it up so it doesn;t sit on the dodger.
O'wise all is well...it's getting warmer thank goodness. Last night was probably the last cold one, we hope.
Cheers
